t’s being called the biggest private
sector investment project in Canadian
history—a massive, $40-billion liquefied
natural gas project that will transport natural
gas from Dawson Creek in northeastern B.C. to
a Kitimat processing plant in northern B.C
The project is a joint venture between Royal
Dutch Shell, Mitsubishi Corp., Malaysian-
owned Petronas., PetroChina Co., and Korean
Gas Corp.
On October 3rd, alongside B.C. Premier John
Horgan, LNG Canada and First Nations leaders,
Prime Minister Trudeau welcomed LNG Cana-
da’s decision to build a major liquefied natural
gas (LNG) project in Kitimat, British Columbia.
The $40-billion project represents the largest
