orth American design firm Stantec
will be expanding its presence in Tex-
as and Alabama with the planned acquisi-
tion of the Infrastructure Americas division
of KBR, expected to close in December
2015. The acquisition will strengthen Stan-
tec’s Texas presence and enhance the
firm’s infrastructure design capabilities in
the Gulf Region.
KBR is a global technology, engineering,
procurement and construction company
serving the hydrocarbons and govern-
ment services industry. Its three distinct
businesses — technology and consulting,
engineering and construction, and govern-
ment services — have customers in more
than 70 countries through operations in 40
