Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport was established in Dorval in 1941.
Built during the Second World War, the airport has been a vital link to Europe right from
the start. Montreal business, commerce and tourism have always relied on the airport to
be the engine that helps drive the economy. And today, we know that the 200 business
currently operating in the airport, provide nearly 27,000 direct jobs and a total of 55,000
when indirect and induced jobs are included. This all adds up to a staggering annual
contribution of $55 billion to the Quebec GDP.
Today, Montréal–Trudeau welcomes more than 15 million passengers a year to a terminal
that has been almost entirely rebuilt to the highest standards. Some 30 airlines connect
over 135 non-stop destinations, 80 of them international, including Beijing, China.
With recent improvements and innovations, we can feel proud of our achievements
and look to the bright future!
