Jason Pincock, CEO of DynaLIFE Dx, has an interesting take on the future of
health care in Canada. Encouraging and promoting a system where labs and
physicians work collaboratively to diagnose and treat patients could not only
ease the strain on the health-care system, but encourage more patients to
take greater ownership of the state of their health.
This month, we profiled the Alberta-based private lab to talk about the future
of diagnostics and the company’s achievements in Canada’s Best Managed
Companies program. This year, DynaLIFE Dx achieved Gold Standard status,
which is awarded to companies that have maintained their standing in the
program for four years.
The experience, he said, provides great opportunities for any organization to step outside of its industry
and look for improvements that may remain hidden otherwise.
Also in Alberta, Mountain View Seniors’ Housing (MVSH) has a project underway that will bring increased
housing options to the senior residents of Sundre. The $26.6-million, 104-unit residence will be unique in
its ability to offer a variety of living arrangements designed to allow residents to stay in their community as
the need for more personalized care increases.
From independent life lease residences to supervised care for people living with conditions such as
Alzheimer’s, the MVSH project is a source of pride for a community that asked for increased housing op-
tions, and is eager to see their dream become a reality.
Also in this month’s issue:
• Security in the health-care industry has undergone major changes over the past few decades. Todd
Milne, Director of Security Operations for the University Health Network, is determined to see UHN become
an innovative and strategic leader within the industry.
• Centennial College’s newest endeavour, the innovative and visually stunning Centennial Residence
and Culinary Arts Centre, will be ready to welcome students for the 2016-17 school year.
• A project by the Canadian Italian Business Professional Association (CIBPA) tells the story of Cana-
dian citizens of Italian heritage who were interned during the Second World War. The documentary, Piazza
Petawawa, offers an enlightening look at a major but little known event in Canadian history.
