EDITOR’S LETTER

or the layperson, waste water may not be something one thinks
about everyday, but Peel’s John Glass, Manager, Water & Waste-

water Operations and Optimization, certainly does, and his enthu-
                F siasm is catchy.

The Region of Peel’s Waste Water infrastructure strategy is one of the lead-

ing programs in Canada. Not only does it serve one of Canada’s largest
municipalities, removing about 500 million litres of wastewater a day for

over 1.5 million residents, but it is one of the most environmentally-friendly
                  systems too.

It was a pleasure to speak with Glass about Peel’s GE Booth Waste Water

Treatment Plant, and how the new $272 million plant will service the region
in the coming decades and inspire other plants of its kind.

The overarching theme for this issue is how the companies within have

YOU’RE LEADING THE WAY Not only was staying in operation during shut-downs a real challenge, but

TOWARD THE FUTURE navigating the new horizon of changing regulations has required very nim-
