• Bruce Power invested about $400 million
in an extensive planned maintenance out-
age program, ensuring units would oper-
ate at a high degree of reliability into the
future.
• A new scholarship program was created
to provide 10 post-secondary Aboriginal
students with $2,000 each for their stud-
ies. A new $1.2-million Aboriginal Com-
munity Investment Fund will help promote
initiatives in Aboriginal communities from
2016 to 2020.
• A new $25-million, 23,000-square-foot
fire training facility will provide greater
training opportunities for the company’s
emergency and protective services de-
partment.
• The company received the Platts Global
Energy Award for Industry Leadership in
the power sector during an event held in
New York City on Dec. 10. The award is
considered the “Oscars of the energy in-
dustry”.
