What better time than when Canada is in
all its verdant glory (sorry, Newfoundland
and Labrador) than to learn more about
the cannabis industry? Since its legaliza-
tion last year, the cannabis industry has
blossomed. While the cannabis industry is
still in its infancy, seasoned vets in the bev-
erage, pharm, and supply chain are capital-
izing on a major opportunity—to get out in
front of the pack.
One such front runner in the manufactur-
ing of end-products is Pure Global, whose
products can be found in a number of mar-
kets from health and beauty to edibles to
pet products. We spoke to CEO Malay Pan-
chal about using the Canadian market as a
springboard as more countries turn to le-
galization.
The Federal Government has committed
to legalizing edibles in Canada by no later
than October, 2019. With Health Canada
currently in the process of drafting regu-
lations around the manufacturing, pack-
aging, and sale of these products, a new
industry group called The Cannabis Bev-
erage Producers Alliance has formed to
help guide the way you, the consumer, will
purchase cannabis beverages in the near
future. We spoke with June Nicholson of
the CBPA about the group’s advocacy for
manufacturers and consumers alike.
This month’s cover feature highlights Pitt
Meadows Plumbing, and its celebration of
40 years in service. What started out in
1979 by brothers Steve and Stewart Robin-
son as a local plumbing company has flour-
ished into one of Western Canada’s most
trusted mechanical contracting firms, and
its dedication to family values and passion
for good work show no signs of slowing
down.
